Type B Systems, Devices and Appliances are commonly found in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, food processing, mining, energy and gas production sites. A Type B  device is defined in AS/NZS 5601 as an appliance that produces heat/light/energy for consumption with a gas consumption in excess of 10 MJ/Hour but sizes can very ranging from 10 mj/h to appliance exceeding 3000 GJ/Hour.


We are an authorised Type B Appliance Approval Body under section 733(2) of the Queensland Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004 to approve the installation or use of a Type B Gas Devices/Appliances in Queensland.


All Type B Gas devices in Queensland must be approved by an authorised Type B approval authority before installation and use by the correctly licensed or authorised gas fitter.


Type B Gas Device need approval if they use:

- LPG

- Butane

- Natural Gas

- Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)

- Liquid Natural Gas (LNG)

- Coal Seam Gas (CSG)

- Biogas & Waste Gas

- SYN Gases

- Hydrogen



Commercial and Industrial Type B Gas Appliances

Gas Fired Spray Booths

Our team of Type B gasfitters and servicemen can help with installing, altering, commissioning, servicing, maintaining, removing and certifying all types and brands of LPG, and natural gas fired spray booths including Seetal, Spray N Bake, Aussie, Lowbake, Panda, Tru Flow, Junair Spray booths, etc. These do include equipment booths, car booths, truck booths, aircraft booths, boat or locomotive booths. Our gas specialist can also perform gas safety submissions for these booths, including all air dilution, paint and volatile calculations, evaporation rates etc. to satisfy the Gas Appliance Approval Authorities. We can also perform six monthly and 12 monthly gas appliance safety checks and flue and booth gas samples required to be performed by the Australian Standards!

Gas Flares

Installing, altering, commissioning, servicing and maintaining all types of gas flares most of these flares can found in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. We can also install, commission, service and maintain all landfill/sewage/bio gas flares. 

Please Note: All enclosed ground flares are classed at Type B Appliances not flares in Queensland these must have a Type B approval done before installing this type of flare.

Other Gas-Fired Appliances

We also install, commission, service and repair and certify all types of thermal fluid heaters, water heaters, induction heaters, direct fired heaters, internal duct heaters, air heaters, hot air generators, calciners (rotating), cookers, kettles, fryers, roasters, char grills, distils and vaporizers, dehydrators, hot oil baths and much, much more. 

We can also perform the 12 monthly gas-fired safety checks on all these appliances as required by the Australian Standards.

Gas-Fired Furnaces and Kilns

Our team can perform all the installing, altering, commissioning, servicing, maintaining, removing and certifying all types of LPG, natural gas and bio-gas fired furnaces and kilns, including but not limited to, continuous heat treatment, batch heat treatment, vacuum, carbonising, burn-off furnaces, homogengenising furnaces, barrel furnaces, crucible furnaces, holding furnaces, annealing furnaces, salt bath furnaces, soft metal melting furnaces and carbon rejuvenation kilns. We can also perform the required 12 monthly gas safety checks as required by the Australian Standards.

Gas-Fired Dryers

Our Type B gas specialists can help with Installing, altering, commissioning, servicing, maintaining, removing and certifying all brands and types of LPG, natural gas and bio-gas fired dryers including custom made dryers. These dryers maybe direct or indirect fired, single or multi zone, stationary, mobile or rotating dryers. These dryers include, but are not limited to, grains, nuts, fruits, salt, ginger, herbs, coffee, other foods, sands, pharmaceuticals, meals (blood & bone), cloths, timber and paper etc. We can also perform all 12 monthly gas fired appliance safety checks on all these dryers as required by the Australian Standards!

Gas-Fired Steam Boilers

Installing, altering, commissioning, servicing, maintaining, removing and certifying all brands and types of; LPG, natural gas and bio-gas fired boilers including bio mass boilers with gas-fired cold start, oil-fired boilers with gas pilots, multi-gas/multi-fuel fired boilers, pulverised coal boilers with oil and gas pilots and boosters. We also perform five weekly and three monthly boiler inspections/services and 12 monthly boiler inspections, maintenance and overhauls including boiler tube cleaning and camera inspections on boiler tubes.

Special Gas-Fired Appliances

Special gas-fired appliances are appliances that cannot meet the current Australian Standards ever after all avenues have been tried and tested. Our team can perform all the Installing, altering, commissioning, servicing, maintaining, removing and certifying all types of "special" LPG and natural gas systems and appliances. These appliances are often:
  • Appliances that run above 200kpa
  • Special gases e.g. Hydrogen, Magnagas, Hydroxygas for burning

Gas-Fired Ovens

Our Industrial Type B gas fitters can help you with Installing, altering, commissioning, servicing, maintaining, removing and certifying all types of LPG, natural gas and bio-gas direct and indirect gas fired ovens including finishing ovens, billet ovens, heat processing ovens, die ovens, aging ovens, continuous ovens, batching ovens, composite curing ovens, rotating ovens, bake ovens, moulding ovens, even large bake ovens over 150m long. 

Gas-Fired Water Heaters

Installing, altering, commissioning, servicing, maintaining and certifying all types of water heaters for commercial and industrial water heating and processing, water bath heaters for vaporising and superheating of LPG and LNG prior to pressure reduction and post heating of natural gas for gas turbines etc. We also perform 12 monthly gas safety services on theses heaters as required by the Australian Standards.

Afterburners and Thermal Oxidisers

Installing, altering, commissioning, servicing and maintaining and certifying all types of gas-fired process afterburners and thermal oxidisers including regenerative thermal oxidisers (RTOs).

We can also perform the required 12 monthly gas safety checks as required by the Australian Standards.
