James Giles Plumbing is an Industrial Contracting business built for the jobs that sit outside a single trade: live gas boilers, custom switchboards, pressure welding, ageing plant that can't afford unplanned downtime. WHAT IS INDUSTRIAL CONTRACTING?

Our Industrial Contracting Service means bringing Plumbing, Gas, Electrical, Fabrication and Mechanical trades together under one team, so nothing gets lost between trades and nothing gets forgotten between shutdowns.

It isn't one trade wearing different hats. It's specialist work where electrical has to talk to gas systems, welding has to hold under steam pressure, and maintenance schedules are built around a plant's real risk, not a generic checklist.

ELECTRICAL & INTERGRATED SYSTEMS

Plant safety often comes down to what's happening inside the switchboard. We design, build and install custom switchboards and integrated electrical systems for industrial sites, including:

• Industrial and technical electrical solutions, including hazardous area systems
• Integrated system management across plant and process controls
• Gas detection, evacuation and auto shutdown systems, plus gas safety ventilation
• Gas operating plant interlocks and plant automation control
• Instrument control and calibration
• Burner management systems and burner control units

FABRICATION AND WELDING

When standard parts won't fit an unusual process, we build what will. Our fabrication and welding team handles custom, site-ready structures and specialised fittings for industrial and commercial applications, including:

• Stainless steel, poly and pressure welding, including fusion and butt welding for high-pressure gas and steam services
• Custom builds and specialised fittings
• Stainless steel fabrication, plus cooling, extraction and ventilation systems
• Installation and commissioning of steam systems, from plate heat exchangers and pressure regulation stations to pipework, valve manifolds and condensation pumps

It's precise work. Get a weld wrong on a steam line and the consequences are immediate, so every job goes through the same rigour, no matter the size.

STEAM, BOILERS & THERMAL SYSTEMS

Boilers don't forgive neglect. We supply, install, service and certify industrial-scale steam and thermal systems, including:

• Industrial-scale, biomass and hot water boilers
• Plate heat exchangers, steam manifolds and associated systems
• New, reconditioned and multi-fuel gas boilers, installed and commissioned across all brands and sizes
• Boiler inspections, maintenance and overhauls on five-weekly, three-monthly and twelve-monthly cycles
• Boiler tube cleaning, including camera inspections where needed
• Burner servicing across gas, oil and diesel systems, with tune-ups and flue gas testing

Our team of industrial contracting experts work across LPG, natural gas, biogas, oil, diesel, coal and multi-fuel boilers alike. Whatever's firing your plant, we can service it, upgrade it or replace it with our Industrial Plumbing team picking up any connected pipework.

BOILER UPGRADES & CONTROL SYSTEMS

An old burner running on a single fuel is an expensive habit. We upgrade ageing boiler burners and controls to modern, multi-fuel systems, including new gas burner and switchboard upgrades. Depending on budget, these systems can run on a single fuel or advance to multi-fuel firing, drawing on whatever by-products or waste streams a site already produces, including:

• Natural gas, biogas, LP gas and other gases, including vent gases
• Light and heavy oils, waste oils and bunker oil
• Animal fats and molasses
• Diesel and bio-diesel
• Wood dust and wood pellets

Using residues and waste in place of fossil fuels cuts both energy and disposal costs, particularly where a site already generates high or low heat value by-products as part of its process.

We supply and install programmable burner management systems, with or without O₂ trim, from leading brands including Saacke, Siemens, KromSchröder, Lamtec and Dungs, along with burner management upgrades more broadly. Regular combustion tune-ups and analysis keep boilers operating efficiently and safely, reducing fuel costs, preventing incomplete combustion and minimising carbon monoxide risk. We also run system audits to optimise plant performance and bring operating expenses down further, by working with our Gas Safety & Compliance team.

CLEAN ENERGY, SUSTAINABILITY & ENERGY RECOVERY

Waste has value if you know where to find it. We design sustainable energy solutions, including:

• Hydrogen gas systems
• Biogas and waste gas utilisation
• Biomass fuel systems
• Energy recovery from waste heat
• Power generation
• Maximising raw material value through sustainable practices

Whether that means capturing waste heat or converting industrial by-products into fuel, we help clients get more value out of what their site already produces, with our Type B Gas Services team supporting hydrogen and biogas installations.
